Behind the Scenes: Hauling Demo Debris from a Germantown Kitchen Reno

Walk through how we hauled four days of demo debris off a full Germantown kitchen renovation: cabinets, drywall, old subfloor, and all.

One of our regular customers, a contractor working in Germantown, took on a full kitchen gut for a young couple last month. He brought us in for the demo hauling and we ran the dump trailer in and out of the driveway across four days. Here's how it went.

Day 1 — Cabinets and countertops

The first day was mostly cabinet boxes, an old laminate countertop, and the busted dishwasher. Roughly half a load. We could have come back the next morning, but clearing the workspace meant the plumber had room to start Tuesday morning instead of working around a pile.

Day 2 — Drywall and flooring

This was the heavy day. The crew pulled up two layers of vinyl that had been laid over the original 1920s hardwood, plus the lath and plaster from a wall they were taking down. By 4pm the trailer was three-quarters full of dust, broken plaster, and old subfloor. We hitched up and took it straight to the transfer station so it was ready to load again the next morning.

Day 3 — Final demo and dump run

A bit more drywall, the old soffit, and miscellaneous trash from the week. One more run to the transfer station that afternoon and the driveway was clean.

What the contractor said afterward

"Honestly the only thing I'd change is calling you on day one instead of trying to make pickup-bed runs the first morning. I wasted three hours hauling to the dump myself before I called Hauling Patriots."

If you're staring down a renovation project (kitchen, bath, basement, whatever), a dump-trailer haul is almost always cheaper and faster than a roll-off dumpster for shorter jobs. Text us a photo of the demo pile and we'll quote it.
