Hauling 4,000 lbs of Donations to Second Harvest Food Bank

A local church group ran a holiday food drive and needed a way to move it all. We donated the truck, the trailer, and the muscle.

Late last fall a church group out near Madison reached out about a food drive that had gotten bigger than they expected. They had a fellowship hall full of canned goods, dry pasta, baby formula, and diapers, and a single minivan to move it all.

We brought the 16-foot enclosed trailer over on a Saturday morning, and by lunchtime we'd loaded up roughly 4,000 pounds of donations. From there it was a straight shot down to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee on Metroplex Drive.

The numbers

  • 4,000+ lbs of food and household goods delivered
  • 1 enclosed trailer load (one trip, exactly what an enclosed trailer is built for)
  • Enough food to make roughly 3,300 meals, per Second Harvest's estimates

What an enclosed trailer is great for

This kind of run is where an enclosed trailer really earns its keep. The boxes stayed dry and locked up between stops, nothing shifted around on the interstate, and we didn't have to tarp anything down. If your group is organizing a similar drive, reach out. We're always happy to talk through the logistics, and we keep weekend slots open for community work.

Got a project in mind? Let's talk.

Whether it's a single-load haul or a full-day cleanup, we'd love to hear what you're working on.
