Back-to-School Supply Drive: 600 Backpacks Delivered Across Davidson County
Every August we partner with a local nonprofit to deliver backpacks and school supplies to Title I schools. Here's how 2025 went.

Every August for the last few years, we've teamed up with a small Nashville nonprofit that puts together back-to-school kits for kids whose families are stretched thin. They handle the fundraising and the assembly. We handle the trucks.
What "the trucks" actually means
Last August looked like this:
- 6 schools across Davidson County
- 600+ backpacks fully loaded with notebooks, pencils, folders, and basics
- 3 trailer trips spread across two days, with both the flatbed and the enclosed in rotation
The flatbed handled the pallets of supplies coming in from the warehouse donation. The enclosed trailer handled the assembled backpacks once the volunteers had everything packed, because nobody wants to deliver soaked notebooks in a Nashville thunderstorm.
Why we keep doing it
A backpack and a fresh set of supplies isn't going to fix everything for a kid going through a tough year. But standing in the cafeteria of an elementary school in August, watching a fifth grader pick out the blue backpack instead of the green one, it sure feels like it matters. We'll keep showing up as long as they keep asking.
If your organization runs a similar drive and you're stuck on logistics, reach out. There's almost always a way to make it work.
